Sharonda Williams Named President of the New Orleans Bar Foundation’s Board of Directors

Fishman Haygood special counsel Sharonda Williams was recently appointed president of the board of directors for the New Orleans Bar Foundation (NOBF). As the charitable fundraising arm of the New Orleans Bar Association, the foundation funds programs like the first bar association sponsored public interest law fellowship housed in Southeast Louisiana Legal Services, a variety of programs for young lawyers to develop leadership skills, and many other activities beneficial to the bar and to the city. Notably, NOBF created the prestigious Veterans Justice Fellowship in Southeast Louisiana Legal Services, which serves the civil legal needs of low-income veterans in the New Orleans area. The foundation also funds the materials and lunches provided to school children as part of the New Orleans Bar Association’s Law Day programs, which are held in collaboration with judges and courts.
Sharonda is very active in professional and civic organizations at the local and state levels. Among her many appointments, she currently serves as the secretary-treasurer of the Port of New Orleans, secretary of the Board of the Urban League of Louisiana, vice-chair of the board of French Quarter Festivals, Inc., and vice-president of the board of Louisiana Appleseed. Sharonda is also a member of the boards of the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities, Louisiana Policy Institute for Children, LCMC Health, Ogden Museum, and the 2024-25 Federal Bar Association – New Orleans Chapter.
